This video is the best.
I shared a bus with a multitude of Danish tourists today. I do not mean to offend anyone, but, listening to them speak was comparable to listening to someone vomit…over, and over, and over. Perhaps its an acquired taste? I bleed puns.
What I found particularly interesting was their ability to butcher the Icelandic language when attempting to pronounce words on signs that they saw. You see, if I (someone who was raised speaking languages nowhere close to Icelandic) am capable of correct pronunciation, shouldn’t people from a country whose language is (arguably) the closest practical (used loosely) language (if not only in written form) to Icelandic be able to as well?
I would like to repeat that I mean no offense by any of this. It was simply a peculiar experience for me. They all seemed like nice enough people!
*Side note: Never in my life have I blogged so consistently. To tell you the truth, I’m quite put off by this frequency. HOWEVER…this, to me, was worth it. And, I do not have a social life just yet.
